Israeli forces have carried out intensified airstrikes on sites and infrastructure inside Iran, including the reported killing of Iran’s navy chief who oversaw operations in the Strait of Hormuz, officials confirmed Wednesday.

The strikes come as the conflict between the two nations enters its second month. 

Iran responded by launching missiles toward central Israel, causing injuries and damage from falling debris, according to Israeli emergency services.

Iran has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil shipments, raising concerns about potential disruptions to energy markets worldwide.

U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed a 15-point ceasefire and peace plan, urging both sides to reach a quick resolution. 

Trump stated publicly that Tehran is interested in a deal, though Iranian officials have rejected the proposal and insisted no negotiations are underway.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides exchanging fire and international observers warning of the risk of broader regional escalation.
