The Middle East stands on the edge of a catastrophic war.
For the third straight day, Israel and Iran are in open combat. Cities have been rocked by explosions. Missiles have hit civilian areas. Thousands of lives hang in the balance.
Now, Tehran says it’s ready to shut down Israel’s war machine.
A senior Iranian security official told RT that Iran has been preparing for a long war — and that the time has come to strike hard. Iran’s goal: dismantle Israel’s military infrastructure.
So far, Iranian strikes have killed at least ten people in Israel, bringing the total Israeli death toll to thirteen. In Iran, over 400 deaths have been reported by human rights groups. The government hasn’t confirmed those figures, but the images from Tehran show buildings flattened, neighborhoods destroyed, families shattered.
Millions of Iranians rallied on Saturday, demanding retribution. The Iranian official said Tehran has already identified key Israeli targets: hidden homes of Israeli leaders, energy facilities, aircraft suppliers, and command centers.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says its missiles have already hit fuel sites used by Israeli fighter jets. Israel has not commented.
Meanwhile, the fighting continues to escalate.
Iran launched missiles at Tel Aviv, striking apartment buildings and bombing a refinery in Haifa. In response, Israel hit Iran’s South Pars gas field, an oil depot in Tehran, and a nuclear site in Natanz. Israeli jets also carried out targeted assassinations of top Iranian commanders and scientists.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says these strikes, known as Operation Rising Lion, are meant to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon. Iran calls the strikes unprovoked and has suspended nuclear talks with the U.S.
Those talks, scheduled for Sunday and mediated by Oman, were canceled after Israel’s attacks. Still, U.S. President Donald Trump said the door isn’t closed. “They’d like to make a deal,” he said. “They’re talking.”
Russia sees it differently. President Vladimir Putin condemned Israel’s actions and warned of further escalation. On Saturday, he spoke with Trump by phone and offered Russia’s help in mediating negotiations.
But with missiles still flying, time for diplomacy may be running out.
This isn’t just another skirmish. It’s a global flashpoint — and the world is watching.
